Background...

Over the past three years the range of vehicle products now includes not only the Federal Signal Corporation emergency products out of University Park, Illinois, but the full range of Federal Signal Corporation amber products.    

Since mid 2003, Emergency Vehicle Systems Limited has also gained the agency for the Federal Signal VAMA range of vehicle products from Europe.  This particular range of warning products is a good fit for use in New Zealand as the European vehicles are more like those imported into New Zealand in both 12VDC and 24VDC options.

During 2003, Emergency Vehicle Systems Limited formed a relationship with ComGroup Australia Pty Ltd/TMC Radio Group and took over the New Zealand agency for the promotion; supply and servicing of the Simoco range of two-way radio equipment. 
This included the supply of repeaters, mobile and portable two-ways radios, Automatic Vehicle Location, Mobile Data Systems, GPS and related site engineering and installation work.

The Simoco product was originally from Philips Australia.   When Simoco was formed, many of the original Philips staff were retained as the core of Simoco in Australia thus giving Simoco a strong Australasian influence and strong product continuity. 

Simoco portable and mobiles use DSP coding designed and implemented in Australia and have for a number of years produced quality technologically advanced two-way radios with locally requested and installed features some years ahead of both Tait Communications and Motorola Communications.
